College
of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT)
CEIT is currently housed in a building in Dhahban, north Jeddah, and
within a few kilometers of the shores of the Red Sea. Work is
underway to construct a new purpose-designed building on the same
site. The foundation stone for the CEIT building was laid by His
Royal Highness Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince of the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at Dhahban site.
The Saudi Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) licensed the College
as an independent private educational institution offering
university-level academic programs in the disciplines: Electronics
and Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Industrial
Engineering. CEIT has been authorized by the MOHE to grant a
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering to its students upon
successful completion of 10 semesters (155 credit hours), over a
study period of four to five years, including a choice of two paths
for practical on-the-job training in business and industry
establishments as arranged by CEIT. The College functions under MOHE
supervision, with the first batch of students being admitted for the
Fall 2008 semester. A College Council has been formed consisting of
distinguished members derived from the education sector.
Alongside the establishment of CEIT, strategic plans of action are
in full swing to develop CEIT into a full-fledged university
college, raising its profile as an institution of educational
excellence.
Vision
The College of Engineering & Information Technology strives to
impact the national scene by developing an education / research
enterprise that would be recognized as a premier source of
